Reid Tidwell

A True Calling to Family Law

Born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina, Reid Tidwell has deep roots in the state and a genuine understanding of the issues families face when dealing with the court system. While he gained experience practicing personal injury law early in his career, family law has always been his true calling.

Reid focuses his practice on guiding individuals through complex and critical transitions, including divorce, child custody, alimony, modifications, and termination of parental rights.

Empathy, Clarity, and Mediation

Reid understands that family court cases are deeply personal. He approaches every client with empathy, clarity, and determination, striving to make the process as straightforward and manageable as possible. His goal is to ensure clients feel informed, supported, and confident at every step.

A key part of his approach comes from his specific training in dispute resolution. Reid has completed Family Court Mediation Training and serves as a Family Court Mediator. In addition to practicing law with Elliott Frazier, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Upstate Mediation Center, where he conducts volunteer mediations. This extensive experience heavily informs his thoughtful, solution-oriented approach, allowing him to help families find constructive, out-of-court resolutions whenever possible.

Building a Foundation for Advocacy

Reid’s interest in advocacy and practical courtroom skills began during his undergraduate years at Furman University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Affairs and was an active member of the school's Mock Trial program. He continued building those skills during his time at the Charleston School of Law and through hands-on experience as a Summer Law Clerk at a family law and mediation firm in North Charleston.

Today, Reid truly values the collaborative environment at Elliott Frazier, alongside its strong focus on client needs. He takes pride in being highly accessible and providing practical, personalized guidance tailored to each family’s unique situation.

Life Outside the Office

When he is not advocating for clients or volunteering his time as a mediator, Reid is actively engaged in the Greenville community. He is a classically trained violinist and enjoys attending performances by the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, reading any history book he can get his hands on, spending time out and about with friends, and taking full advantage of everything the Upstate has to offer.
