A Foundation of Service and Integrity

Ian is a sixth-generation South Carolinian who takes pride in serving the community that shaped him. Raised by a mother who was a teacher and a father who served as a United States Marine Corps officer stationed at Parris Island, Ian developed an early appreciation for service and integrity. He graduated from JL Mann Academy before attending The Citadel, where he had the honor of serving on the Honor Court.

Legal Experience and Child Advocacy

Ian built a foundation in family advocacy during his time at the University of South Carolina, where he participated in the Veterans Legal Clinic. Through this program, he represented an indigent veteran in a family court matter under the supervision of a licensed attorney. He also gained valuable, hands-on experience working with children as a counselor at a local co-ed non-profit summer camp.

After law school, Ian clerked for The Honorable J. Derham Cole, Sr., in Spartanburg, SC, and practiced commercial transportation defense before shifting his focus to family law. He brings the rigorous attention to detail honed during his clerkship directly into his practice today.

Ian is proud to be an Eagle Scout and a Brother of Sigma Chi. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the upstate with his wife, Anna, and their Corgi, Vienna.
